HOW DO YOU MAKE CANNABIS MCT OIL?

Cannabis MCT oil is super easy to make - all you need is dried cannabis flower or concentrates, and a high quality MCT oil. Check out my article on 6 steps to making the best cannabis infusions. In this article, it will give you step by step instructions in how to make any kind of cannabis infused oil with either the LEVO II Oil Infusion Machine or Ardent Fx All-In-One Cannabis Device, or even via the classic methods with the oven or stove top.

I recommend using either the LEVO or Ardent because these devices are very easy to use, won’t stink up your kitchen or house with the cannabis smell, and are super easy to clean. If you are planning to buy one, make sure you use my code “CANNABINISTA” for $30 off your Ardent purchase or “CANNABINISTACO” for 10% off your LEVO purchase.

Cannabis MCT oil is a great flavourless oil that can be virtually used for any type of infused recipe. It’s a great infused ingredient to use for gummies because it’s already in liquid form and has no taste. This will help with maintaining the fruity flavour of your gummies and not be overpowered with any oil taste. MCT oil stands for “medium-chain triglycerides” and it’s known for it’s smaller molecules that make it easier to digest. MCT oil is known for absorbing into our bloodstreams quickly, and quickly turning into energy that we can use. MCT oil is a popular oil amongst keto enthusiasts for this very reason. MCT oil is extracted from coconuts, however the main difference between MCT oil and coconut oil is that MCT oil stays in liquid form while coconut oil returns to solid form in room temperature.

INGREDIENTS (+SUBSTITUTIONS)

  • Gummy Mix: I used the LEVO tropical peach gummy mix because it contains all the ingredients I need to make gummies, all in one convenient package! You can grab these on the LEVO website and use code “CANNABINISTACO” for 10% off. You can also get the ingredients separately which would be sugar, gelatin, and some type of flavouring for the gummies.

  • Cannabis Infused MCT Oil: For gummies, I would’t recommend using any other oil just because of the taste. The benefit of MCT oil is that it’s generally flavourless which means your gummies will taste like gummies, and not like olive oil or coconut.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR SUCCESS

  1. For the most accurate dosing, I recommend using the tCheck cannabis potency tester device to test the THC and/or CBD% of your homemade infused MCT oil. The tCheck is a compact at-home device that can test the THC and CBD % of your dried cannabis and cannabis infusions (ie. butter, coconut oil, MCT oil, extra virgin olive oil, and alcohol). Use code “CANNABINISTA” for $25 off your tCheck potency tester device. It takes less than 5 minutes to test the potency of your oil! After you finish testing the potency of your oil, I recommend using a label maker to mark the dosage for future reference.

  2. If you find that your gummies are sticking together, you can use cornstarch, potato starch, or even arrowroot powder to dust onto the gummies. Sugar will also work. To make it extra fancy, you can use sour sugar to make sour edibles!

  3. Store the edibles in a sealed tight glass container for up to 3 months.
